"A Christmas Snow"

I just got back from Tulsa, OK. I was shooting a movie called "A Christmas Snow" with Must Watson from "NCIS" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer", and a young actress named Cameron ten Naple. I'm thrilled to be cast in a new movie called "A Christmas Snow". I'll be spending the month of February in Tulsa, Oklahoma playing opposite an adorable young actress named Cameron ten Napel and Muse Watson. This is an inspiring story of a woman (my character, Kathleen) who has spent most of her life clinging to feelings of anger and regret having been abandoned by her father one Christmas. She was just a child and chose to blame her mother. Through a strange set of circumstances she is forced to come to terms with her past through the gentle nudging of kind old man and a young girl with whom she comes to recognize as a kindred spirit.
It's a lovely story for everyone and really does illustrates how we should take the time to appreciate all that we have in our lives.

Hallmark Movie, "The Class"

I just completed a Hallmark TV movie called "The Class" with Eric Roberts, Justin Bruening and Jodi Lyn O'Keefe. I had the greatest time playing the wealthy yet loving mother of Justin's character Whitt and the unhappy wife to Eric's character Benjamin. I'm overwhelmed by husband's demand that I maintain the appropriate image of the perfect wife of a powerful attorney. I suppress my frustration with wine. In the end I manage to redeem myself and support my son's desire to follow his own path and not the one paved by his father.

I got to meet some old and new friends at Chiller. Stephanie Powers was there. We worked together in "Hollywood Wives". I also saw Richard Dreyfuss after meeting him probably 20 years ago. My favorite was probably Davy Jones. I had such a crush on him when I was a kid. I HAD to have my photo taken with him!

I did a movie called "Rising Stars" this summer in Texas. It's a story about a talent competition with young performers and film makers. The final competition involves the making of a music video with three groups of the combined finalists.

What a year

Hey All,

I'm in Dallas, Texas right now shooting a movie called "Rising Stars". It's about a group of young, talented musicians, singers, dancers and directors who are competing to make a winning music video. I play the over bearing mother of a dark but very talented director play by the enormously talented actress Lauren Ashley Carter. Keep your eyes out for her. Also in the cast are the talents of Kyle Riabko who starred in "Spring Awakening" on Broadway (and is a fellow Canadian), a lovely young dancer named Natalie Hall (also Canadian), Pierce Cravens, Grahm P. Martin who I worked with on a previous project, and Leon Thomas III. These actors will be huge one day!

I've had an amazing year. I did a project for Lifetime TV called "My Neighbor's Secret" that should be out sometime this fall. I play a cop. I also spent the spring going back and forth to LA where the highlight was the red carpet premiere of "Love N' Dancing". Check out the photos at: snipurl.com/hmut9 and/or www.gettyimages.com

While I was in LA I got to interview my old friend Robert Hays for SAG Foundations "Conversations" and I even had lunch with Doug McKeon from "Mishchief". I hadn't seen him since "Mischief". He later invited me to dinner at his house where I met his beautiful wife and three adorable toe headed boys. I also lunched with Kelly Maroney from "night of the Comet", who I haven't seen for 20 odd years. She's doing great. It was so cool to see her again. AND the 25th anniversary of "The Last Starfighter" was celebrated with a screening and Q & A afterwards. Unfortunately Lance Guest couldn't be there as he's doing an amazingly successful play in Chicago called "Million Dollar Quartet" at the Apollo Theatre, but his wife and son attended. It was so great to see Nick Castle the director and Gary Adelson the producer, Craig Safan the composer and on and on. We also filmed interviews for the 25th anniversary edition release of "The Last Starfighter" on DVD. I learned for the first time how ground breaking, technically, that film really was.

So it's been a fun year. My family is awesome. My daughter turned sweet 16 and my son became a teenager at 13. Huge for them. Life is good.

So I've had a pretty busy year or two. I'm really pursuing work again after focusing mostly on raising my children.

First I want to say that my website was shut down for a few months so anyone who wrote me and didn't hear back, please write again and I will respond.

Second, someone sent me a video cover to sign and it got separated from the letter. I didn't know who it belonged to. I have been feeling guilty about it since it happened and I hope the person can somehow identify themselves and find a way to prove it was for them, I would be so grateful.

Third, I have a Hallmark TV movie airing for the first time called "Generation Gap" on October 25th. Ed Asner plays my father, Alex Black is my son and others include; John Heard, Rue McClanahan, etc. It's a story of a teenage boy (Alex) that's full of teenage angst that threatens to really screw up his life. I send him to spend the summer with my crusty, colonel father to straighten him out.

I plan to hit LA this spring for an extended period to try to stir up some more work. Wish me luck!!
